Overview

Work closely with media manager to create engaging content for company’s social media presence, sending up to date information, videos and photos to child sponsors and ministry supporters.

Requirements

– Proven experience as a Media Assistant or other administrative role.

– Providing administrative support to media manager.

– Proficiency in video editing and photography.

– Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Premier Pro / Elements and LightRoom software.

– Works with media manager to develop social media campaigns.

– Good writing skills for e-newsletter.

– Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

– Ability to meet tight deadlines.

– Would have to live in Bulembu or in surrounding area.

Location   : Bulembu

Work hours   : 8am – 1pm,  2pm – 5pm (48hr work week)

3. Position purpose:    Produce media content for various platforms that represents the ministry accurately.

1. Videography

  • Plan the project- equipment preparation, shot list ,script and permissions.
  • Capture required footage and audio
  • Edit footage
  • Compile final product
  • Present for approval to manager
  • Plan the project- equipment preparation, shot list

2. Photography 

  • Capture required photos
  • Edit photos
  • Present for approval to manager
  • Write material as per approved topics

3. Newsletter

  • Edit material as required
  • Mentor interns to produce material
  • Present to manager for approval
  • Assist manager with material when required
  • Do research on different platforms
  • Campaign ideas

4. Social Media

  • Reports based on platform activities
  • Assist manager with material when required
  • Do research on different platforms
  • Campaign ideas
  • Reports based on platform activities

5. Project completion

  • Occasional after hour projects / events required
  • Ensure that all projects are completed in required timelines
  • Ensure that highest quality is maintained
  • Ensure accurate representation of ministry values, principles and policies

6. Stewardship

  • Maintain inventory of equipment
  • Report any damage of equipment to manager
  • Handle all equipment with care
  • Oversee use of equipment when being used by interns

7. Communication

  • Clearly communicate with team members and demonstrate respect in all interactions
  • Attend meetings and planning sessions when and where required.
  • Provide regular feedback to the manager
  • Report any issues immediately and where possible identify solutions to the issues.

8. All reasonable and lawful requests by your manager to be carried out.

  • Might include work assignments on other ministry sites.
  • Might include activities not specific to Media

9.  To live out the BMS / CMS values at all times.

Qualification and Experience

  • Form 5
  • Computer literate
  • 1 year experience in a similar industry.
