Accountant

The Premier League of Eswatini is an Association duly established by its constitution and affiliated to the National Football Association of Eswatini with the primary object to manage, direct, control and administer football Competition on behalf of its member clubs. The PLE invites applications from interested candidates to fill the vacant position of Accountant. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing the following:

Key Performance Areas

  • Produces timely and accurate monthly financial reports and ensures that bank reconciliations are performed accurately on a monthly basis by the specified dates and presented to the CEO.
  • Verifies recorded transactions and follows up on any discrepancies.
  • Prepares cash flow forecasts and balance sheet for approval by the CEO.
  • Ensures that cash and electronic funds transfer payments are processed in accordance with procedure and within designated authority levels.
  • Monitors costs against budgets and analyses operating expense variances.
  • Prepares documentation such as Vat and tax in accordance with regulatory requirements and international accounting practice.
  • Ensures accounting processes such as payroll, payment of creditors, debtors management are carried out in accordance with procedure and within deadlines.
  • Oversees and supervises the functions of the Accounts Office. Recommends and implements best practices within the general ledger and financial reporting areas.

Qualification, Experience and Competencies

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent plus near qualified in a professional accounting qualification such as CIMA or ACCA

Chief Executive Officer

The Premier League of Eswatini is an Association duly established by its constitution and affiliated to the National Football Association of Eswatini with the primary object to manage, direct, control and administer football Competition on behalf of its member clubs. The PLE invites applications from interested candidates with an above average strategic leadership and innovation to fill the vacant position of Chief Executive Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing the following:

Key Performance Areas

  • Provide Strategic leadership for the whole organization within the available budget. Lead the resource mobilization and funding strategy for the organization to ensure financial sustainability.
  • Develop and administer the marketing and branding strategy of the organization.
  • Work closely with the Board in enforcing Policies and Procedures.
  • Effectively implement PLE Strategy.
  • Develop and maintain a stakeholder engagement framework.
  • Prepare and compile periodic reports for the review by the Executive
  • Coordinating the AGM and all statutory meetings of the PLE.
  • Supervision of staff as well as instilling a high work ethic across the organization.

Qualification, Experience and Competencies

  • A degree in a related field
  • Administration and Management: Knowledge of business and management principles with at least 5 years’ Managerial experience leaning towards sports management
  • Management of Financial Resources: Demonstrates a broad understanding of principles of financial management.
  • Technological Awareness: Solid knowledge and understanding of information and communications technologies and the ability to use such technologies effectively.
  • Planning and Organisation: Proven ability to effectively allocate resources and plan the effective implementation of strategy.
  • Communication: Good communication skills, both written and oral for the preparation and delivery of reports and recommendations and have good rapport with media stakeholders.
  • Analytical: Proven conceptual, evaluative and analytical skills, ability to identify issues, formulate options and make conclusive recommendations.
  • Judgement and Decision Making: Considers the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose
