Overview

Our client the National Agricultural Marketing Board (NamBoard) is looking for exceptional individuals to lead in following positions:

Purpose of the position: The purpose of the position is to prepare the financial statements, ensure that existing financial control systems are functioning, and to provide timely and reasonable advice on the cash flow and financial implication of any endeavor by the company. This position is responsible for the preparation and conveyance of the annual statutory returns. This position reports to the CEO.

Key areas of responsibility include:

Prepare of Financial Statements

To ensure the existing of systems for recording accounting transactions and production of financial statements in accordance with standards; Prepare and timeously submit all financial reports to relevant structures

Audit Trail

To maintain sufficient audit trail; To ensure sufficient segregation of duty and authority to enhance the control over financial operations.

Financial Advice to the Corporation

To provide well researched financial advice and interventions; To provide treasury management services.

Cash-flow Management

To advise the company on the best debt-creditor equilibrium; Monitor and advise on any factors which potentially impinge on the company’s cash-flow position.

Statutory Returns

To interpret the tax practice and implement the same to benefit of the organisation; To submit corporate tax returns and other statutory deductions on time.

Safeguard Financial Assets of the Board

To prepare and implement financial procedures for the organisation; Prepare, implement and review fraud prevention and detection strategies; Maintain a budgetary system which ensures maximum benefit from the application of financial resources; Develop and control financial risk systems

Investment Appraisal

To apply any relevant tools to appraise any potential projects for implementation To monitor the implementation of corporate projects; Advise on the most effective method of financing operations and projects.

Key Competencies: Strategic thinking and Focus. Analytical skills, People management, Self-starter and completer, In depth knowledge of Financial controls, influencing skills, Relationship building, Change agent. Must be honest.

Professional qualifications: B Com (Accounting) or equivalent; Charted Accountant with a Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting; Must have professional qualification.

Experience: Minimum 8 years Financial Accounting experience in senior management environment, Extensive experience in management accounting; Specialist knowledge of FRS; Specialist knowledge of taxation laws.


CHIEF OPERATIONS MANAGER

Purpose of the position: The purpose of the position is to optimise the company’s operating capabilities and employ effective strategies to maximum output and customer satisfaction. It is to develop small scale and subsistence farmers into commercial production, ensuring that produce meets international standards; to ensure that farmers’ produce is provided with sustainable access to markets

Key areas of responsibility include:
Strategic Focus To spearhead strategies to steer the company’s future in a positive direction; driving the company’s operating capabilities to ensuring increased produce for both local and export markets , effective agribuness environment ensuring customer satisfaction .robust stakeholder engagement and company company growth. Drive the compilation and management of the operations budget.

Marketing and Process

To assess and implement improved processes and new technologies; Setting up programmes and projects to uplift the standard of production, visibility and economic viability in the country in all commodities. To monitor and control national projects and schemes established to grow the country’s market share, reduce importation and develop essential value chains for self sustainability. Provide technical and quality support for export farmers

Farmer Development

To oversee farmer development and marketing initiatives and implementing better business practices; to mobilize local, regional and international resources for commercial farmer development, infrastructure to support the country’s  vision of growing local markets as well as accessing export markets and its related cold chain logistics ; Development of extension programmes with a view to the attainment of total farmers development.

Staff Supervision

To delegate responsibilities to ensure staff members grow as capable participants; employing various initiatives to coach employees to optimize their capabilities and to manage the performance reviews for all subordinates

Key Competencies: Strategic thinking, Flair for business and marketing, Knowledge of farm produce processes, Understanding of operations management, research skills, People management, Entrepreneurial.

Professional qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or Horticulture. An masters degree in Agriculture or Business Management will be an added advantage

Experience: A minimum of 8 years in operations management in the agricultural Sector in senior management environment, and exposure to development and management of projects by donor agencies

NAMBoard is the Kingdom of Eswatini’s National Marketing and Agricultural Board which is enabled by Act No. 13 of 1985 and charged with facilitating markets for farmers and assisting them production processing, storage, transportation, distribution and sale of schedule products. NAMBoard is also tasked with registering wholesale distributors, importers and exporters of scheduled products as well as advising Government on availability and demand of scheduled products.
