- Purpose of Consultancy
The Ministry of Health (MOH) in collaboration with World Health Organization (WHO) and Population Services International (PSI) Eswatini are taking a step to adapt and develop the World Health Organization (WHO) Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH) self-care guidelines. The steps are in line with the government efforts where no man, woman, new-born child and adolescent die from preventable Sexual, reproductive, Maternal, New-born, Child, Adolescent Health and Nutrition causes and where they live to realize their full potential as embedded in the Sexual, Reproductive, Maternal, New-born, Child, Adolescent Health and nutrition (SRMNCAH&N, 2019-2023).
The adaptation of National ASRH Self-care Guidelines is regarded by the Ministry of Health and stakeholders as an important tool in facilitating access to SRH and HIV services as well as enhancing quality and cost-effectiveness of health service delivery. Proper adaptation and development of the National ASRH Self Care Guidelines will go a long way in equipping service providers and other implementers at all levels of the healthcare service delivery with skills and knowledge to adequately respond to the needs of the populace.
Therefore, the purpose of the local consultancy is to adapt and develop National ASRH Self-care guidelines with the aim of providing guidance that comply with national, regional, and global SRH self-care standards. Through leadership of MOH-SRH unit, coordination and adaptation of the various tasks involved in development of the National ASRH and HIV Self-care Guidelines shall be achieved.

|Activity Timelines||The duration of the work to be carried out will be for 30 working days.|
|Required expertise, qualifications, and competencies, including language requirements||The Consultant must:
|Supervisory arrangements||The technical work of the consultant will be supervised by MOH- SRH Program, in close collaboration with the established ASRH Core Team which shall provide the overall oversight of the guideline’s development. This core team is co-opted by the MOH from key stakeholders working in the SRH and HIV agenda.|
|Progress monitoring and reporting requirements,||The day-to-day work of the consultant shall be monitored by the MOH- SRH Unit through the ASRH Focal person in close collaboration with ASRH Core Team. The SRH Programme Manager shall provide overall oversight while PSI and WHO will provide other support.|
|Implementation Timelines||The consultant will be engaged on a full-time basis starting from February 2023, for 30 working days.|
|Key deliverables||Electronic inception report. (Both slides and Narrative)
Electronic Zero Draft National ASRH Self-care Guidelines. (Both slides and Narrative)
A final electronic and hard copy of validated National ASRH Self-care Guidelines.
|Other relevant information or relevant consideration||Engagements of any other stakeholders, experts or partners shall be at the consultant’s discretion. Travel costs regarding the undertaking of this assignment are part and parcel of the project.|
