Court Clerk / Interpreter

Applications are invited from qualified candidates for appointment to the above post in the Civil Service tenable in the Judiciary.

The candidate must have:-

  • Diploma in Law.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To perform administrative work which includes the registration, preparation and creation of records in both the civil and criminal registries;
  • To be responsible for the custody of Court records;
  • To ensure a prudent, honest and truthful interpretation of Court proceedings and the translation of official documents;
  • To provide efficient customer service to all litigants including the general members of the public;
  • To interpret during Court proceedings;
  • To register summons, subpoenas, warrants and other court proceedings;
  • To be responsible for the safe and proper record-keeping and preparation of same for transmission to the superior Courts of Appeal or review;
  • To perform any other official duties that may be assigned by the immediate Supervisor and/or Head of Department.

SALARY

The basic salary is on Grade B5: E 109, 068 rising to E122, 757 per annum.


Estate Accounts Examiner

Applications are invited from qualified candidates for appointment to the above post in the Civil Service tenable in the Judiciary.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

The candidate must have:-

  • Diploma in Law.
  • Knowledge of the Administration of Estates Act in General

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To examine all accounts submitted to the Master of the High Court by the Executors, Tutors and Liquidators;
  • To supervise and guide the Executors, Tutors and Liquidators during the course of the administration and liquidation process;
  • To call lodgment of security, valuation of certificates in respect of movable and/or immovable property and/or supporting documents;
  • To ensure that accounts are submitted to the Master by Executors, Tutors and Liquidators within the stipulated period and the extensions of time have been sought and granted:
  • To bring all accounts not drawn up in accordance with the provision of the deceased Last Will and Testament and/or rules of interstate succession for the Master’s decision or directive;
  • To submit to the Master the list of all defaulting Executors, Curators. Tutors and Liquidators for removal from office:
  • To perform any other official duties that may be assigned by the immediate Supervisor and/or Head of Department.

SALARY

The basic salary is on Grade B5: E 109, 068 rising to E 122, 757 per annum.
