Position: Digital and Projects Manager Purpose

To manage Digital and Projects divisions responsible for management of E2E digital, electronic and systems projects, digital and electronic banking development solutions, operations, maintenance and acceptance testing; working with local and NAR technology teams to support the banks transformation Strategy on Automation and Digitization.

To support on Helpdesk Call Queries on digital and electronic issues and to manage and deliver medium projects from commencement to completion within the scope; budget and time agreed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all Digital and Electronic Banking development solutions and Banking systems projects in the business including core bank system solutions, changes, etc. with NAR and GT teams at Group and local business units and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate that all Digital and Electronic Banking transactions are captured manually if systems are offline.
  • Ensure customer callouts for digital channels and electronic systems (e.g. Money App, Online Banking, POS, etc.) are done within agreed timelines Regular visits to critical clients as requested or escalated by Business units Manage client queries and problems, providing assistance to staff and clients for all digital and electronic Banking products.
  • Ensure that proper testing is done before implementation of digital solutions or electronic system changes and regularly test all systems functions to ensure that products are services are per design and relevant to changes not influenced by e.g. windows upgrades, browser upgrades, etc.
  • Contribute to the development of the Digital and Electronic Banking strategy that is aligned to the overall strategy of the Bank; building internal structures with sales teams, marketing teams, etc. to advance digital and electronic banking products and services.
  • Drive digital adoption by clients per set targets and ensure that internal Nedbank staff drive the use of Digital and Electronic Banking.
    Ensure that the Bank has appropriate and relevant Digital and Electronic Banking platforms, products and services to meet client’s requirements.
  • Responsible for the implementation, installations and appropriate training of clients and staff to ensure proper competency with running their Accounts via the Bank’s electronic and digital solutions.
  • Ensure that all operational procedures, documentation, etc. adhere to Bank’s regulations and legal requirements and ensure all regulatory compliancy.
  • Identify and report on any potential operational risks.
  • Make recommendations and implement measures and actions to minimize operational risks.
  • Project management responsibility; project budgets within project scope, governance and scheduled timelines; ensuring accurate cost estimation based on project scope, resources, project lifecycle, client requirements, etc. and ensure escalations of any deviations.
  • Management approach Identify project stakeholders, communicate their roles and define the level of participation in project, map their communication needs and manage stakeholder engagement strategies through the project plan.
  • Manager each stakeholder group actively through the change cycle.
  • Establish a culture conducive to diversity by participating in transformation surveys and processes.
  • Conduct business change impact across process, systems and roles according to the change management plan and requirements of business units and client’s needs.
  • Manage the stakeholders and keep the informed by ensuring information dissemination, manage delivery operations and define strategies in the project scope.
  • Ensure client needs are accurately captured in scope and signed off by business units and stakeholders for satisfactory implementation, resources allocations for projects delivery and post project testing and reviews.
  • Manage delivery of projects according to relevant Project Management methodology.

Qualifications and Experience

  • BSc Computer Science or Engineering degree or equivalent and Project management certification
  • Post graduate degree will be an advantage
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years’ people management experience

Position: Transformation Engineer (Trainee)

Responsible for transformation, automation and process engineering functions and delivery for the business.

To deal with tactical aspects of process and automation that include; process discovery, validating; documenting; and communicating business-process-related knowledge through modelling; simulating and analysing current and future states; focusing on business outcomes, technical aspects and process automation via digitization; in line with the business strategy.

To deal with business transformation that include; transformational projects, tools, systems and solutions. Achievement of digitization to transform and improve our operational efficiencies, effectiveness, service accessibility, delivery speed, self-service processes, etc.; to achieve cost reduction or optimization and revenue increases.

Core Responsibilities

  • Analyse, develop and manage transformation, automation and process engineering initiatives and projects initiated by Group NAR and/or locally per business strategy.
  • Analysing operational/business processes (incl. digital, systems and data) and propose process enhancement solutions to improve those processes per requirements.
  • Provide inputs into applicable project artefacts.
  • Documenting and review process maps and supporting artefacts in line with Nedbank’s standards and client experience guidelines and best practice.
  • Perform gap analysis and due diligence Participate in Joint Application Development (JAD).
  • Engagement with Process Enhancement Group (PEG)/ Process Improvement Forum (PIF) sessions.
  • Delivery of the TOM2.0 transformation strategy in line with Group NAR.
  • Provide inputs into change management plans for transformation, automation and process engineering delivery items.
  • Communicating new and/or updated processes, transformation or automation projects to business stakeholders and ownership of reporting and tracking dashboards within this space.
  • Lead responsibility for transformation, automation and process UAT tests, strategies and procedures; creating test cases; perform testing and analyse test results with relevant business stakeholders or responsible departments.
  • Technical development software solutions, software lifecycle management and API based project solutions, products/services rollout and API management.
  • Continuous improvements based on best practices for all our transformation, automation and process engineering initiatives and deliverables.
  • Execute budgeting and resource allocation to deliver transformation, automation and process engineering projects; taking responsibility for resources, budgets, project management scopes and timelines, stakeholder management and support functions.
  • Keep abreast of legislation and other industry changes that impacts on role by reading the relevant newsletters; websites and attending sessions to remain current.
  • Understand and embrace the Nedbank vision and demonstrate the values through interaction with teams and stakeholders; to achieve business goals and objectives.
  • Identify training courses and career progression opportunities for self with input from management and alignment to Group NAR; to improve personal capability and to stay abreast of developments in field of expertise.
  • Involved to manage and keep record for all delivery and operational risks, policies and procedures, audit issues for transformation, automation and process engineering space within department ERCO / Audit / Compliance expectations.
  • Ensure all learning activities are completed; experience gained and certifications obtained within specified time frames to support personal growth and enable effectiveness in performance of roles and responsibilities

Qualifications and Experience

  • B.com Information Systems or BSc. Computer science/Engineering (technology/innovation/automation/software development) skills
