RESETTLEMENT OFFICER

Location: MKHONDVO NGWAVUMA WATER AUGMENTATION PROJECT (MNWAP)
Reporting to: Objective:
Environment Manager The Resettlement Officer will be responsible for the implementation of Resettlement Action Plans for the MNWAP in accordance with the Resettlement Policy and Entitlement Framework.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Implementation of Resettlement Action Plans

• Ensuring compliance with Resettlement Policy and Entitlement Framework

• Facilitate educational workshops for affected communities on the resettlement process

• Ensure all project affected persons and impacted assets are identified and compensated accordingly

• Engaging with stakeholders at community and government levels and ensuring community consultations on all aspects of resettlement

• Prepare and facilitate signing of compensation certificates by relevant parties

• Facilitate compensation negotiations with affected parties and ensuring they reach agreements

• Facilitate and monitor all resettlement activities including construction

• Address grievances according to grievance redress procedures

• Facilitate implementation of livelihood programs as planned

• Ensure graves are relocated in accordance with resettlement procedures

• Produce regular progress reports as and when required

• Assist in preparation of budgets and work plans

Qualifications, Skills, Experience

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Science/Management or relevant. A qualification in resettlement will be an added advantage

• Good community mobilization and ability to resolve community conflicts

• Able to exercise effective judgment, sensitivity, creativity to changing needs and situations.

• Computer literacy

• At least three (3) years working experience in a similar setting Light duty Driver’s license with at least 2 years’ experience

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT FACILITATOR(S) (2 POSITIONS)

The following vacancy has become available at Siphofaneni ESWADE Main Office. The positions are for a duration of 12 months. Suitable candidates are invited to apply.

Location:  Siphofaneni ESWADE Main Office

Reporting to: Business Analyst

Objective: To provide agricultural business & marketing extension services to farmer companies in the project. This will entail training, coaching and mentoring the farmers in best agricultural business & marketing techniques

Duties and Responsibilities

• Facilitate the procurement of debt funding for farmer companies.

• Provide business extension services to farmer companies.

• Provide marketing extension services to farmer companies.

• Provide reports on business support initiatives.

Qualifications, Skills, Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Economics & Agribusiness Management or equivalent

• Have a working knowledge of training subsistence farmers?

• Have a comprehensive and practical understanding of agricultural business and marketing principles.

• Ability to perform physical requirements of the job

• Experience working with rural communities at field level of community development.

• Have extremely good communication, negotiation and presentation skills(verbal and written).

• Very good level of computer literacy and demonstrated ability to use different Microsoft Office packages and/or advanced computer software’s

ENVIRONMENT OFFICER

Reporting to: Environment Manager

Objective: The Environment Officer will be responsible for the implementation of environmental mitigation measures during project implementation and ensuring compliance with environment regulations and the implementation of the project’s Environmental and Social Impact Assessment and Management Plan

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conducts environmental education and community awareness activities and provide training where necessary on environmental management

• Facilitate development and implementation of environmental assessments of sub-projects as relevant

• To develop community-based environmental projects based on the community’s needs and assist in fund requisition

• To ensure that all environmental, health and safety obligations are observed and plans implemented by the project

• Ensure public health mitigation measures are adhered to during project implementation

• Assist the communities on implementation of the Chiefdom Development Plans (Environmental issues)

• Liaise between the community and consultants in the development and implementation of Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs)

• Environment, Health and Safety construction monitoring of contractors

• Produce regular progress reports as and when required

• Assist in the preparation of budgets and work plans

Qualifications, Skills, Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science/Environmental Management Studies or relevant.

• Ability to interpret and communicate relevant content in siSwati to facilitate community education sessions

• Understanding of EIA processes and ability to undertake environmental assessments

• Knowledge of relevant local legislations & International conventions,

• Able to exercise effective judgment, sensitivity, creativity to changing needs and situations.

• Excellent report writing skills

• Computer literacy

• Light duty Driver’s license with at least 2 years’ experience

• Three (3) years relevant working experience in Environment Management in rural development projects with understanding of natural resource management.

COMMERCIAL MANAGER -EXECUTIVE POSITION

Reporting to Chief Executive Officer

Main Objective

The position establishes the ESWADE Commercial department and actively searches for business opportunities/ activities that will generate revenue for ESWADE including overseeing the provision of business support activities in implemented projects. This will entail evaluating business processes, uncovering areas for improvement as well as developing and implementing solutions.

Minimum Qualifications : Masters’ Degree in Agricultural Economics or MBA or Equivalent with a first Degree in Agricultural Economics & Agribusiness Management.

Minimum Work Experience

• Minimum Three (3) years serving at Executive Management and five (5) years general managerial experience in agribusiness and or projects implementation.

Responsibilities and tasks

• Ability to establish and manage a commercial department

• Manage projects and commercial teams

• Identify business opportunities that will generate revenue for ESWADE and develop business proposals

• Undertake consultations with key stakeholders

• Form strategic partnerships with existing service providers

• Identify a range of services to be commercialized

• Develop a business/financial model

• Craft commercial strategy to support the overall ESWADE strategy

• Oversee the development and implementation of business support strategies

• Compile analysis reports

• Oversee the provision of business reports

Other skills and competencies

• Protect management skills

• Proven business management, plans development and modelling skills

• Thorough understanding of business processes and strategy development • Excellent knowledge of MS Office package

• Good understanding of research methods and data analysis techniques
