The IMS Officer — Network Security detects, prevents and resolves security threats to the ESWADE computer networks. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of all organizational data and information systems.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Maintaining adequate security of all ESWADE LAN, WAN and server architecture by monitoring security threats or unauthorized users

• Performing analysis of network security needs and contribute to design, integration, and installation of hardware and software

• Analyse security risks , implement mitigation plans and develop response procedures

• Create and maintain security policies as well as develop authentication and authorization protocols

• Develop and test and implement software deployment tools, firewalls and intrusion detection systems as well as prescribe and supervise security hardening on all network equipment and devices

• Respond to security incidents in a proactive and /or reactive manner to ensure swift investigation and resolving of requests to minimize disruption to the business

• Report on all security incidents and maintain an updated IT risk register

• Maintain a Business Continuity Management and Disaster Recovery plans

• Monitor the environment of the Data Centres and systems centres to safeguard against hardware failures

• Facilitate the training of users on best security practices and procedures as outlined in the ESWADE IT Policy and procedures

• Works with appropriate departmental and project based resources to ensure that all network security procedures are integrated into ESWADE standards.

Qualifications and Experience

▪ A Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field or a closely related technical field with at least 3 years on the job experience

▪ A professional industry certification; experience in networking systems, information technology, or network security is recommend-ed- These may include a combination of the following; Ethical Hacking certificate, CISSP, CISA, CCNA, CCNA Security

▪ Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Certification

▪ Knowledge of networking and client server systems is required.

▪ Ability to work effectively within a team.

▪ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

▪ Excellent oral and written communication skills.


Reports to: Information Management Systems Manager


To assist with install, maintain and support computing and electronic equipment to ensure that reliable infrastructure is available to service the ESWADE’s IT requirements. To work together with ICT personnel to provide service and maintenance of all computing equipment and networks.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and support computer and electronic equipment to ensure efficient performance of equipment in line with ICT performance objectives.

• Assist in the implementation of application and operating systems to. ensure that all computing equipment has the correct software needed to meet system performance objectives.

• Install, and maintain all network and computer hardware and software, including LAN, WAN, WI-AN environment.

• Monitor the condition of the ESWADE network and devices to maximize the availability and potential of the systems. Test, maintain and recommend software improvements to ensure strong functionality and optimized performance.

• Report breaches of network security and evidence of new risks to which business systems are exposed to the superior.

• Work with the ICT Service Desk to provide technical assistance to users and troubleshoot and resolve network and computer related problems.

• Assist in disaster recover/ activities to ensure that information is backed up correctly and the disaster recovery system is functioning correctly in line with disaster recovery plans.

• Maintain and update all IT inventory registers.

Reports to: Information Management Systems Manager


The Senior Systems Officer is responsible for the complete life cycle of new or modified internally developed and externally sourced IT systems. This will include analyzing existing arrangements, implementing system improvements and providing the necessary change management.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Administer, analyse and sustain capacity and performance requirements of all ESWADE systems

• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to identify systems requirements and develop appropriate solutions.

• Produce all the relevant system documentation including user specifications, RFQ/RFP, testing documents and user manuals

• Provide user training and change management for implemented systems

• Assist in the design of a Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence platforms

• Monitor systems and platforms for availability and provide support for users

• Provide coordination and support for the review and development of IT processes and related procedures

• Responsible for ensuring availability and security of existing MS SQL/MySQL Server and other operational databases.

• Work closely with the Project Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) function to improve and operationalize projects’ monitoring systems

• Performs analysis of existing processes and procedures and makes recommendations when changes are required.

• Works with appropriate departmental resources to ensure that all database solutions are integrated into ESWADE standards and that all databases are tested to ensure complete compatibility with the organization’s hardware, software, and peripherals.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or a closely related technical field with at least 3 years on the job experience

• Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services, SQL Server Reporting Services , SQL Server Analysis Services and Extraction Transformation and Loading (ETL) processes

• Experience with Data warehousing , Data warehouse processing and Business Intelligence

• Knowledge of networking and client server systems is required

• Knowledge of GIS and spatial data management would be an added advantage

• Ability to lead and develop individuals within group.

Job Summary

The Agronomist will oversee the implementation of the LUSIP 2 Extension Crop production (Open-Field & Tunnels)and management by ensuring that the commitments are fulfilled. The Agronomist will report to the LUSIP Agriculture Development Manager.

Main Functions

1. Create strategies in strengthening crop production and crop management.

2. Develop innovative research —based techniques in agronomy functions and programs.

3. Responsible in crop selection process and development of crop production schedules, budgets & timelines.

4. Supervising designated Officer(s), assigning responsibilities and reporting on progress.

5. Preparation of weekly, monthly and quarterly situation and progress reports as per schedules.

6. Coordinating all operations in collaboration with stakeholders (Public, Private-non-profit and Private for profit sectors)

5. Generating reports and presenting findings to the LUSIP- Agriculture Development Manager, clients or other interested parties.

Qualifications: The Incumbent should possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agriculture or any other related discipline. More education and or additional certification maybe preferred.


A minimum of 3 years working in fruits & vegetable production, awareness of crops/produce industry trends, technology & development and general supervision of professional staff for excellent performance.

Job Summary:

The Livestock Officer will be responsible for providing technical support and advice to farmers on livestock management, assist farm development activities, farmer training and capacity building and coordinate with other project consortium partners on livestock related interventions. The Livestock Officer will report to the LUSIP-Agriculture Development Manager. Specific duties include:

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

The main duties of the Livestock Officer are:

1. Provide animal production trainings and capacity building of animal producers within the Project Development Area(PDA)in order to improve quality and quantity of production.

2. Assist farmers with the daily animal husbandry management practices including; feeding, breeding schedules, farrowing/calving/birthing, vaccinations, selection and culling, record keeping, hygiene and sanitation.

3. Disease identification and veterinary checks.

4. Forage resource development and better use of animal feed.

5. Identify constraints and opportunities to improve animal feed value chain.

6. Organise farmer workshops and carrying out practical demonstrations relating to livestock production.

7. Ensure appropriate site selection for livestock enterprise development.

8. Assist with farm designs based on livestock enterprise.

9. Ensure construction of farm structures and equipment is according to livestock needs.

10.Assist business planners with providing livestock data and information for gross margins.

11. Facilitate procurement of farm input supplies and equipment.

12. Arrange for purchasing of breeding stock

13. Arrange and Facilitate for selling of livestock produce.

14. Facilitate movement of livestock to and from sites through livestock movement permits.

15. Manage relations between input suppliers, service providers and customers

16. Provide the market with information on livestock production and farmer locations,

17. Assist farmers with procurement of inputs and service provision as per the ESPPRA guidelines,

18. Compile Training manuals and schedule for the Livestock farmers.

19. Timely prepare and submit all relevant reports,

20. Prepare and carry-out all relevant presentations to stakeholders,

21. Carry out any other assigned duties by the LUSIP — Agriculture Development Manager.


1. The incumbent should possess a minimum of either a Bachelor of Science(BSc.) in Animal Production and Husbandry/Animal Science or other related fields,

2. A minimum of two (2) years working experience in livestock production, or livestock extension,

3. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision,

4. Ability to plan ahead and think strategically.
