Human Resources Officer

Reporting to: Executive Director — Administration

Job Brief:

The University is looking for a skilled HR Officer who will facilitate recruitment. contribute in development and management of policies and make the institution a better place to work at. Minimum

Qualification and Experience:

• A degree in HR or equivalent: and five

• (5) years’ experience in the field

Personal Attributes:

• Knowledge of the HR function (payroll, benefits, recruitment, training and development, etc)

• Ability to work under minimum supervision;

• Good interpersonal skills;

• Flexible and hardworking;

• Integrity, honesty and confidentiality; and

• Computer skills;

Key Responsibilities:

• Development and implementation of HR functions;

• Drafting of policies and procedures;

• Management of disciplinary and grievance issues;

• Maintenance of staff records (including monitoring of leave days);

• Facilitate training and development programmes;

• Compliance with relevant laws and other statutory requirements.

Lecturer, Research Methods And Statistics
Reporting to: Head of Department

Job Brief: Teaching Research Methods and Statistics across Faculties.

Minimum Qualification and Experience:

• A Master’s degree in Mathematics and statistics or equivalent

• At least five (5) years’ experience teaching in a higher education institution.



• Application of technology to statistical experiments;

• Excellence in quantitative data analysis, complex variables and calculus;

• Curriculum development, computer technology, scripting, mathematics and quantitative methods; and

• Excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Lecturing;

• Research; and

• Community service.


Reporting to: Vice Chancellor

Job Brief: The applicant must be completely conversant with matters pertaining to the administration and functions of a University in particular the Senate and its Committees.

Minimum Qualification and Experience:

• A Master’s degree and relevant training in educational administration.

• At least five (5) years’ experience occupying a senior position in a higher education institution.

Personal Attributes:

• Leadership and team building skills;

• Excellent writing skills;

• Integrity, honesty and confidentiality in handling information; and

• Computer skills.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Administration of students’ applications and admissions;

• Students’ registration;

• Administration of examinations;

• Keeping of students’ records;

• Facilitating the production of the University Calendar each year;

• Servicing the Senate as Secretary;

• Providing secretaries to various academic boards and Committees .

• Printing of academic certificates;

• Being custodian of the University seal as directed by Council;

• Carrying out duties as may be assigned by the Vice Chancellor from time to time.
