Job Summary: The Mobile Outreach Nurse is a self-motivated individual who provides direct service delivery for the implementation of mobile and outreach services to deliver a comprehensive package of services primarily targeting HEls, OVCs and AGYW, expanding the current offerings of HTS, STI screening, condoms, and contraception (including emergency contraception) to include HIV self-testing when available, test and start for same-day ART initiation, adolescent/ youth friendly comprehensive SRH and FP services, GBV service packages including counselling and referrals, and ECD support for young mothers in selected communities in the four regions of Eswatini.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

Program Implementation

• Delivers a comprehensive package of services primarily targeting HEls, OVCs and AGYW through outreach and mobile services

• Expands the current mobile and community outreach offerings of HTS, STI screening, condoms, and contraception (including emergency contraception) to include HIV self-testing when available.

• Provides test and start for same-day ART initiation of all clients identified positive in the mobile and outreach activities

• Provides direct referrals and ensure linkages (or direct accompaniment via peer navigators, expert clients, or mentors) to the youth friendly focal person at the relevant facility for ongoing care and support

• Supports the establishment and strengthening of a referral network model that facilitates linkages between mobile units and health facilities to ensure delivery of comprehensive HIV, SRH, TB and ECD services

• Ensures all mobile and community outreach services are implemented according to set standards and SOPs

• Works with the M&E team to closely track data from all mobile and community outreach services provided

• Compiles weekly project reports or as requested by the supervisor
Management and supervision

• Supervises the HTS Counselor, Expert Client and Driver for the outreach services team

Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor as and when needed

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• A degree or diploma in nursing and midwifery

• NARTIS and Family Planning trainings are essential

• Experience in working with adolescents and the youth is required

• At least 3 years’ field experience in providing HIV prevention, care, treatment and support services including SRH (especially FP and GBV)and ECD services

• Good interpersonal skills are essential

• Ability to effectively manage others and work as part of a team

• Ability and willingness to work during weekends and after hours

• Fluency in both English and SiSwati is required

• Computer literacy, with comfortable working experience with the basic Microsoft packages (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
