OPERATOR

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the above mentioned position within the Company.

THE JOB

Reporting to the Packaging Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for monitoring and control the production process to produce a consistent product of the right quality at optimum cost.

Key deliverables also include but not limited to the following:

• Good understanding of Modern Maintenance practices

• Ensure machine availability and product quality at minimum cost whilst maintaining the required standards

• Provide specialist technical support and enhance machines, system and process capabilities

• Optimize team processes

• Implementation of the VPO standards and other continuous improvement processes

• Maintain a safe and healthy working environment

• Good leadership potential

• Operate machine and equipment

• Monitor and control the production process

• Autonomous Maintenance

• Work in Teams

THE PERSON

The ideal candidate should have the following minimum requirements:

• National Diploma or N4 in Millwright or Mechanical Engineering

• Qualified, trade-tested artisan with post apprenticeship experience

• Good knowledge of packaging production processes and technologies

• Knowledge of FMCG will be added advantage

• Familiarity with maintenance systems

• Analytical problem solver

• Influencing ability with regards to sound maintenance practices

MECHANICAL ARTISAN (PACKAGING)

THE JOB

Reporting to the Packaging Engineer, the incumbent will be responsible for Maintaining, repairing and the optimization machines and associated devices to ensure machine availability and product quality at minimum cost whilst maintaining the required standards.

Key deliverables also include but not limited to the following:

• Maintain a safe and healthy working environment

• Maintain and repair plant and associated devices

• Good understanding of Modern Maintenance practices

• Ensure machine availability and product quality at minimum cost whilst maintaining stipulated standards

• Provide specialist technical support and enhance machines, system and process capabilities

• Optimize team processes

• Managing and development of team members

• Implementation of the VPO and other continuous improvement standards

• Good leadership potential
