  1. Safety, Health & Environmental Officer

THE JOB

The role exists to ensure that SHER policy, standards and best SHER management programs/practices are adhered to so as to reduce the SHER risk, and to ensure sustainable use of resources with minimal environmental impacts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

3.1 SHER Inspections

• Conduct ad hoc, daily and monthly inspections in the premises

• Compile and submit inspection reports.

• Coach SHE representative to conduct monthly departmental inspections and report in writing.

• Ensure that all risks are identified and mitigated.

• Ensure that a comprehensive operational risk assessment has been developed for each activity on site.

3.2 SHER Audits

• Conduct monthly departmental SHER audits and produce reports and plan of action.

3.3 Induction, Training & Coaching

• Ensure all employees/Visitors and Contractors are trained and/or inducted on Parmalat SHER standards and systems.

3.4 Policies, Appointments, Systems and Procedures

• Review of various SHE systems, procedures, templates and methods and ensure all Safety & Health policies are in place.

3.5 Incident Investigations

• Carry out investigations for all SHE incidents (not limited to lost time but includes near misses)

3.6 Environmental Management

• Implement Environmental Management Programmes (EMP) and mitigation plan.

• Monitor all discharge water and effluent from the site.

• Monitor and put plan of action for all environmental triggers.

3.7 Waste Management

• Identify and remove scrap and redundant materials in the premises in conjunction with the relevant HOD’s.

• Monitor and enforce compliance for Hazardous waste disposal.

• Monitor the waste program for the recycling of waste materials such as cardboard, plastic and paper.

3.8 Occupational Hygiene

• Monitor compliance for hazardous substances.

• Inspect facilities for Hygienic purposes e.g. Ablution facility, Factory Shop. Tea Rooms, Offices etc.

• Monitor Lighting. Noise. Ventilation, Cold room conditions, Ergonomics and Pollution compliance.

• Implement an Occupational Hygiene Program for the site.

3.9 Contractors work permits

• All Contractors on site must be managed by ensuring a safety file is provided for all work to be conducted and a contractor’s contract has been completed.

• All contractors should be inducted and issued with work permit.

• All relevant appointments have been made by the contractor.

• All tools have been inspected and authorized.

3.10 Risk Identification

• Identify security risks and implement correct,  actions which provide sustainable solutions to those identified.

• Perform SHE risk assessments on all function the business.

3.11 Reporting

• Produce, weekly, monthly and quarterly SHER reports

THE PERSON

The ideal candidate is expected to demonstrates following competencies: technical job knowledge, analytic and problem solving skills, planning and organizing skills.

Adherence to deadlines, good communications skis, problem solving and proactive. Have the ability to travel to our sister Plant in Parmalat Mozambique.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate needs to have a tertiary qualification in BSc: Environmental Management and Occupational Health & Safety, or equivalent and at least five (5) years’ experience in SHER in a food Manufacturing Company.


1. Extension Officer – DAIRY / AGRIBUSINESS

THE JOB

This position reports directly to the position of Operations Manager focusing on improving cur Milk Collection base with local Farmers and establish Agribusiness and logistics of outsourcing raw milk.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

3.l Budget preparation

• Initiate the budgeting process based on raw milk intake and price.

3.2 Milk Procurement

• Responsible for the milk procurement process: balancing price, service level, quality, payments terms and other relevant aspects in accordance with Company needs and requirements) using transparent process.

• Preparation and analyzing of milk Procurement reports such as maas balance reports which involves the measurement of the following KPI’s: Milk collection costs, payment terms, Milk quality and composition, service levels, raw materials movements etc.

3.3 Milk Volumes growth

• Responsible for raw milk volume growth through the development of existing suppliers, introduction of new milk collection centres & new milk collection routes.

• Advice Management on protection of raw milk supply source by providing feedback and advice on competitor activity with regard to sourcing the raw material (raw milk)

3.4 Support to Farmers

• Provide Administrative Support to Farmers, and provide feedback on the analytical results, on their milk content and advise them on how they can improve :heir milk grade.

• Responsible for the milk evaluation, audits, and advice to milk farmers on issues related to milk quality and critical quality related control points in milk parlor management in order to enhance good agricultural practices which culminate into food safety management requirement.

• Advice on regulatory requirements related to milk production and processing,

• Provide extension services to Parmalat Milk Producers /Dairy Farmers.

3.5 Milk pricing

• Manage the raw milk pricing to ensure the company pays competitive rates favorable to both the company and farmers.

3.6 Regulatory Authority / Partners.

• Liaise with Corporate partners in the delivery of technical services and expat advice to our Milk Producers and the company in rolling our best practices to enhance our volume growth.

• Meet and liaise with Milk producers and industry regulatory Authorities such as Eswatini Dairy Board, Ministry of Agriculture, and Veterinary Services and maintain a good relationship.

• Maintain s strong liaise with NGO’s, Cooperatives and lobby donor finding to support the growth and development of small scale dairy farming .

3.7 Milk collection

• Manage Milk Collection Driver and scheduling of milk collection.

• Milk Collection daily and monthly reporting.

THE PERSON

The ideal candidate is expected to demonstrate the following competencies: technical job knowledge. analytical and negotiation skills, business acumen, research skills, work independently and organizing skills and work under pressure but deliver results.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate needs to have a tertiary qualification, or equivalent and at least five (5) years’ industry experience.


  1. Management Accountant- Industrial & Commercial

THE JOB

This position, reporting directly to the position of Management Control.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

3.1. Cost Accounting

• Ensure accurate costing for all raw materials and finished goods and are updated and maintained monthly.

• Investigate and take corrective actions with regard to variances.

• Manage and control new and existing bill of materials and routing and ensure that they are accurate and in line at all times.

• Ensure all BOMs are costed correctly and in line with budget/plan.

• Ensure all revenue & pricing is done correctly.

• Assists in improving cost and stock control.

3.2. Budgeting

• Guide all relevant HODs throughout the budget and forecast processes.

• Complete and submit budget and forecast to relevant Authorities.

3.3. Reporting

• Ensure that final month end reports are accurate
and delivered timeously.

• Assist in reporting business’ monthly results to Exco

• Identify and report on business risks and Opportunities

• Prepare ad hoc reports as may be requested by Senior Management.

• Assist in Adhoc projects & proposals.

3.4. Cost & Price Maintenance

• Assist Finance with the maintenance of costs and prices for finished products.

• Monthly analysis of price variances for raw materials and imported products.

The ideal candidate is expected to demonstrate the following competencies: technical job knowledge. Analytical and problem solving skills. organizing skills, accuracy and work under pressure.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate will need to have a Bachelor of Commerce degree. Accounting or equivalent and at least three (3) years’ experience in cost accounting environment. This will be augmented by an understanding of standard and variable costing.
