The Eswatini Copyright and Neighboring Rights Society is an umbrella Collective Management Organization (CMO) that exists to protect, promote, and serve the economic interests of copyright holders in the different creative industries protected under the Copyright Act of 2018. The Society is a non profit making organization established by the Copyright Act of 2018, and is empowered with the authority to license creative works to users, collect and distribute royalties to rights holders, and enforce compliance. The work that we do Is grounded in the recognition that it takes a lot of talent, energy, and resources to produce a creative work. It is therefore important that creators benefit economically from their efforts. Our mission, therefore, is to create value for rights holders and ensure that their creative output is adequately protected, and compensated, both locally and internationally.
As a newly established entity, our organization is looking to hire a team of qualified professionals,with a strong pioneering spirit, to manage and run the organization’s affairs and achieve operational success.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
DESCRIPTION
Seeking a visionary,innovative, and commercially astute leader to be responsible for the overall leadership and management of the Society’s strategic, financial, and operational functions for the achievement of the organization’s goals and operational success.-
KEY DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide leadership and assume responsibility for the development, and implementation, of appropriate strategies and policies to guide the operation, performance, positioning and growth of the Copyright Society.
- Oversee and evaluate all operations and business activities to monitor performance, and plan for continual improvements in administrative, operational, reputation-al, human resource and fiscal efficiencies.
- Develop and lead resource mobilization strategies for the fulfilment of the Society’s goals and strategic objectives.
- Establish, manage, and grow positive working relationships and collaborative arrangements with key partners and stakeholders to help achieve the goals of the Society.
- Keep abreast of the environment and industry trends, and act as a strategic advisor to the board on all aspects of the Society’s activities, as well as on sector related risks and opportunities that have a major bearing on the Society’s performance, growth, and fiscal health.
- Maintain accountability to the board, the members of the Society, and the Copyright Office.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Post-graduate qualification in the field of management/finance/legal/business administration, or a similar related field.
- Experience in leadership and management role(s), with at least 3 years of experience at senior management level.
- Copyright asset management experience, or familiarity and experience with IP law and its application will be an added advantage.
JOB TITLE LICENSING OFFICER
DESCRIPTION
Seeking a self driven professional to administer and implement the licensing of copyright assets to users, for the purpose of creating value, and deriving optimum economic benefit, for the Society and its members.
KEY DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES
- Evaluate and determine market value of copyright assets applying determined rates or formula.
- Receive, evaluate, and process user requests
- Structure licensing deals, negotiate licensing agreements, ensuring compliance with the relevant legislation.
- Develop, maintain, and update a user and license database
- Develop user markets and further cultivate, maintain, and grow positive business relationships with users.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- An undergraduate degree with a specialization/concentration in Sales, Marketing, Business, or a similar related field
- 3 – 5 years experience in sales, marketing, business, or related fields, with demonstrable experience of structuring deals, leading negotiations, penetrating new markets, and moving product
- Creative industry experience, with an emphasis commercialization of creative assets,will be an added advantage.
JOB TITLE ROYALTY ADMINISTRATOR
DESCRIPTION
Seeking a suitably qualified professional to track, monitor, and analyze the usage of copyright assets administered by the Society for the purpose of ensuring compliance with existing license agreements, detecting illegal and improper use, and determining royalties due.
DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop standards, systems, and applicable practices to track copyright asset usage and determine royalties payable
- Collect, analyze, and interpret usage data and coordinate royalty collection
- Keep a record of all asset usage, and ensure usage is in line with license agreements
- Detect and report illegal or improper use, and coordinate enforcement
- Ensure royalty distributions are carried out accurately and efficiently.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Undergraduate degree in the fields of Economics, Statistics, Information Systems, Project ManageMent, or similar related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in a position with an emphasis on monitoring and evaluation, or analyzing and interpreting data.
- Possess strong data analytical skills, with the ability to learn new database concepts, processes, tools, and best practices
DOCUMENTATION OFFICER
DESCRIPTION
Seeking a suitably qualified professional to coordinate, and administer; all of the activities related to the registration of members and creative works, for the purpose of developing, and maintaining, a high value catalogue of copyright assets to strengthen the commercial productivity, and market dominance, of the Eswatini Copyright Society.
DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, and put in place, the relevant systems, procedures, and standards to enable the effective, and efficient, registration of copyright works and members.
- Examine, and verify, registration applications to determine copyright ownership and registration responsibility.
- Analyze, identify, and resolve matters of dispute with the ultimate goal of having the work registered correctly.
- Perform routine database maintenance to continually improve performance, ensure data integrity, and stay up to date with changes, innovations and trends taking place within the sector.
- Administer and coordinate the registration of works with foreign societies, and maintain healthy working relation-ships with them.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Undergraduate degree in the fields of Law, Administration, Project Management, Communications, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in a position with an emphasis on registration coordination, data administration, administration, or related work experience
- Prior experience or general understanding of the copyright landscape, and creative industry publishing agreements, will be an added advantage
JOB TITLE ACCOUNTANT
DESCRIPTION
Seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and trustworthy professional, to administer the financial operations and accounting processes of the Society, for the purpose of maintaining proper books of account to reflect the true financial position of the Society in conformity with acceptable financial standards and legislation.
DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, update, and implement the appropriate accounting systems, procedures, and standards to enable the accurate recording of the Society’s financial transactions, and the determination of its true financial standing, in accordance with relevant legislation.
- Maintain financial records and handle all accounting tasks such as recording business transactions, posting entries to financial records, preparing financial reports, calculating taxes due, and preparing payrolls
- Perform regular monitoring of actual expenditure against budget and report potential overruns to senior management.
- Continuously identify, review and propose appropriate changes to policies and procedures to improve financial controls, record keeping, accuracy, and integrity
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Undergraduate degree in fields of accounting or finance
- At least 3 years of experience working as an accountant, or in financial administration, or similar related experience
- Knowledge of sound accounting practices, and regulatory standards,to ensure requirements for financial reporting are met and integrity in the organization’s accounting practices is maintained.
- Proficiency in Accounting Software
