INSPECTOR OF EARLY CHILDHOOD CARE DEVELOPMENT AND EDUCATION

Applications are invited from qualified candidates for appointment to the above posts in the Civil Service tenable in the Ministry of Education and Training.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

The candidate must have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Care Development Education/Primary Education.
  • A Master’s Degree in either Early Childhood Education or Primary Education is an added advantage.
  • At least ten (10) years’ relevant working experience as a teacher leader in the ECCDE department
  • Computer literacy

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To lead the inspection of all ECCDE centres and service programmes to meet targets in the regions.
  • To supervise and manage activities in the regi9ns and assist in the development of ECCDE performance targets
  • To produce quarterly quantitative and qualitative impact reports (performance targets) for their regions and submit to the Regional Education Officer and the Senior Inspector ECCDE.
  • To provide data, feedback and recommendations on the quality of provision within ECCDE on inspection processes and national initiatives in the regions to the Senior Inspector.
  • Moderate possible outstanding and under-performing ECCDE college student teachers during their final teaching practice.
  • To assist in the capacity building of preschool teachers and care-givers and chairs departmental meetings at regional level.
  • To provide advice, support and guidance at regional level early years and child-care matters to private, voluntary and independent sector providers.
  • To support the development and maintenance of the regions which will enable practitioners to develop skills of critical analysis, reflection and engage in continuous improvement.
  • To assist in the implementation and advice on changes resulting from new and revised policies and legislation.
  • To assist practitioners to develop inclusive provision for all children supporting the setting to implement the Eswatini Early Learning Development Standards (EELDS) in ensuring that each child reaches their potential through appropriately differentiated activities.
  • To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the overall function, commensurate with the grading and level of responsibilities of the post assigned by the super ordinates.
  • To perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Senior Inspector for the subject and/or the REO.

SALARY.

  • The basic salary is on Grade E2: E283, 720 rising to E320, 194 per annum.

INSPECTOR OF SECONDARY SCHOOL —PREVOCATIONAL EDUCATION — TECHNICAL STUDIES

Applications are invited from qualified candidates for appointment to the above posts in the Civil Service tenable in the Ministry of Education and Training.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

The candidate must have the following qualifications:-

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Design and Technology with professional training in Prevocational Education
  • Six (6) years’ relevant working experience in an administrative position such as: Head of Department (HOD), Deputy Head Teacher, College Lecturer or Curriculum Designer
  • Computer literacy and willing to serve as an Inspector in any region.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To be responsible to the relevant Subject Senior Inspector.
  • To carry out assignments according to the specific subject area programmes
  • To be a member of the Subject Panel and professional bodies in the area of expertise.
  • To conduct Subject inspections regularly in the schools, compile reports and submit findings to the relevant Senior Inspector.
  • To carry out follow-up inspections on specific schools where this is required to ensure effective implementation of recommendations.
  • To assist in the organization and conducting of workshops, seminars and in-service courses for teachers in the subject area.
  • To advise and promote the teaching of the subject in the Region.
  • To participate in the development of curricula materials for the subject.
  • To monitor and enforce implementation of Education Policies.
  • To assess college student teachers on Teaching Practice.
  • To participate in the induction of new teachers
  • To facilitate the regularization of stock-taking in area schools
  • To advise departments on the procurement, proper handling storage and maintenance of equipment to prolong effective use in schools.
  • To coordinate staffing and setting up of departments for the subject in the Region.
  • To prepare quarterly and annual reports in the respective subject area.
  • To work with the Regional Education Officer (REO) on the other relevant duties within the Region and other multi-disciplinary and inter-ministerial teams formed
  • To perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Senior Inspector for the subject and/or the REO.

INSPECTOR OF SECONDARY SCHOOLS — SISWATI

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Humanities, with a major in African Languages and Literature
  • Six (6) years’ relevant working experience in an administrative position such as: Head of Department (HOD), Deputy Head Teacher, College Lecturer or Curriculum Designer
  • Experience of teaching English Language and Literature at EGCSE Level
  • Computer literacy and willing to serve as an Inspector in any region.

INSPECTOR OF PRIMARY SCHOOLS

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

The candidate must have the following qualifications:-

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Education, a Master’s Degree is an added advantage
  • Six (6) years’ relevant working experience in an administrative position such as: Head Teacher, Deputy Head Teacher
  • Computer literacy and willing to serve as an Inspector in any region.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To conduct school inspection, compile written reports and forward these to the Chief Inspector Primary, Regional Education Officer and to the schools concerned to ensure effective teaching and learning
  • To carry out follow-up inspections on specific schools where this is required to ensure effective implementation of recommendations in an effort to enhance teaching and learning.
  • To provide professional support to teachers and to head teachers on the best practices of good and effective schools.
  • To organise workshops and seminars for teachers and head teachers on curriculum issues and policy.
  • To monitor and enforce implementation of Education Policies.
  • To work in close collaboration with the National Curriculum Centre and In-service Department to improve syllabus, develop and introduce new curricula and materials in Primary Schools.
  • To assess Primary School student teachers during the final teaching practice
  • To participate and become a member of the Primary School Subject Panels
  • To perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Regional Education Officer.
