Programme Manager

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Reporting to the Health, HIV & Nutrition Technical Manager, the Program Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day planning,

coordination and implementation of Insika Ya Kusasa project activities. Based in Nhlangano, s/he will coordinate the project team

in delivery of Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) services, HIV prevention, Gender Based Violence (GBV) in targeted communities.

S/he collaborates with local authority, key stakeholders & other implementing partners to ensure the sustainable delivery of

Insika Ya Kusasa. In addition, the Program Manager will be responsible for oversight in monitoring & evaluation strategies

and proposing adaptations to the program in response to lessons learnt in implementation.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Overseer the implementation of the Ready, resourceful & Risk aware Project in Shiselweni Region ensuring that project goals and targets are met

Develop an annual activity based budget and operating plan to support the program in collaboration with the finance team.

Manage and coordinate the successful delivery of Insika Ya Kusasa implementation on time, scope and budget.

Provide technical leadership to ensure high quality programming to achieve project results; ensure that the technical assistance provided by the project is effective and sustainable.

Manage project budget to meet expected results, ensuring cost-effective use of resources in compliance with USAID rules and regulations.

Establish and maintain a robust system of monitoring implementation of the project to ensure delivery of quality services that meet PEPFAR standards.

Supervise the project team and ensure management of performance.

Liaise with PACT, key stakeholders and other implementing partners to ensure coordination with other programs and stakeholders.

Develop technical presentations and reports to document Insika Ya Kusasa implementation, key achievements, best practices and lessons learned to share with relevant stakeholders.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS, QUALITIES AND SKILLS

First degree in public health, Social Sciences, health management or related field

Minimum five years’ experience in health and HIV to include assessment, evaluation, and design of project with at least 2 of the years at program management level (strongly preferred).

Experience managing donor funded projects (USG funded projects preferred)

Experience in collaboration and networking with GKOS and non-governmental stakeholders

Experience in program management including budget monitoring, staff supervision

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple interventions effectively, think analytically and take initiative in solving problems

Effective communication skills and proven ability to prepare reports and conduct presentations.


Project Assistant Position

WV Eswatini

To assist the project coordinator in managing the project, especially the logistics functions, ensuring timely orders and payment of accounts, and organizing of conferences, workshops and other stakeholder forums necessary for the success of the project.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Water and Sanitation component of the water harvesting project
  • Prepare and submit procurement bill of quantities to the manager and ensure such are loaded in the system
  • Ensure that project beneficiaries and communities are trained on basic sanitation practices and are aware of waterborne disease
  • Follow up on payment of delivered material and other procured items
  • Ensure proper collection and storage of project records, which include financial and operations
  • Keep record of all project inventory
  • Facilitate booking for workshops, meetings and reviews related to the project

Other Competencies/Attributes:

  • Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.
  • Experience in working with community based organizations
  • Knowledge of World Vision procedures for procurement, financial tracking and reporting
  • Attend and participate and/or lead in daily devotions and weekly Chapel services.
  • Ability to coordinate work in different locations and keep good working relationships with Cluster managers
  • Strong organisational skills, including planning for conferences, meetings and stakeholder dialogues.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Minimum Educational level required: Degree in Development Studies, Agriculture

2. Knowledge of procurement / supply chain processes

3. Knowledge in Book keeping, and Finance

4. Computer skills in Ms Excel and Ms Word

5. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff.

8. Technical Training qualifications required: Economic development oriented

9. Computer skills in Ms Excel and Ms Word


PROJECT COORDINATOR

WV ESWATINI

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

To effectively manage activities within the economic strengthening and social safety nets project, ensuring that intended results are achieved. This includes liaison with different stakeholders with WVS, the Government, the local EU office and communities.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Mobilize communities and organize communities accordingly to implement project in expected time frame
  • Facilitate procurement and ensure timely delivery of construction material, delivered in the appropriate locations
  • Keep proper record books for the distribution of material and ensure proper utilization of such
  • Build capacity of Local agents to support communities on the construction, management and supervision of water harvesters
  • Facilitate linkages between groups and service providers (Government, private sector and community based organisations)
  • Support the establishment of backyard garden and ensure maximum utilisation
  • Manage project staff to effectively carry out their tasks as outlined in the project document
  • Engage and foster dialogue with support office and other like-minded partners through proper success stories and lessons learnt
  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, semi annual and annual project reports

1. First degree in Agriculture / Agriculture Economics and other related degree

2. Previous work experience in working with EU funded grants

3. Good community mobilization skills

4. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to facilitate negotiations with various stakeholders

5. Knowledge of Climate Smart Practices

6. Ability to mobilize and facilitate increase in savings’ groups activities

7. Knowledge of community based disaster risk reduction and preparation of disaster preparedness plans

8. Good report writing skills

9. Good presentation skills
