
ARTISAN FITTER
RFG Eswatini (Pty) Ltd, part of the Premier Group (a leading South African, JSE-listed consumer packaged goods company) is looking for a dynamic and proactive individual to fill the position of Artisan Fitter within the Engineering Department.
Job Purpose
Reporting to the Maintenance Foreman, the purpose of the job is to maintain workshop equipment while observing 5S and ensuring the safety of other employees and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain workshop equipment and ensure 100% uptime through proper execution and optimisation of the Planned Maintenance Schedule (Shopware).
- Perform standard mechanical repairs and ensure machinery and equipment are in optimal working condition.
- Apply maintenance principles and strategies to resolve problems through root cause analysis.
- Upskill and develop apprentices while ensuring safety at all times.
- Work shifts, perform stand-by duties, and overtime when required.
- Perform condition-based monitoring of equipment.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3–5 years’ experience working as an artisan.
- Must have served apprenticeship.
- Good analytical skills.
- Physically fit and able to work at heights.
- Team player.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Computer literacy.

Job Purpose
Reporting to the Electrical Chargehand, the purpose of the job is to maintain workshop and factory equipment while observing 5S and ensuring the safety of other employees and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain workshop and plant equipment, ensuring 100% uptime through proper execution and optimisation of the Planned Maintenance Schedule (Shopware).
- Perform standard electrical repairs and ensure machinery and equipment are in optimal working condition.
- Apply maintenance principles and strategies to resolve problems through root cause analysis.
- Upskill and develop apprentices and transfer skills to operators while ensuring safety.
- Work shifts, perform stand-by duties, and overtime when required.
- Install starters, motors, and panels on factory machines or equipment up to a maximum of 400V.
- Ensure all light fittings throughout the factory and offices are in good working condition.
- Perform condition-based monitoring on equipment.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or N6 in Electrical Engineering.
- 2–5 years’ experience working as an artisan.
- Must have served apprenticeship.
- Good analytical skills.
- Physically fit and able to work at heights.
- Team player.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Computer literacy.
