
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for appointment to the above-mentioned position in the Factory Function, reporting to the Laboratory Technician.
Key Performance Areas

Record, verify, and maintain accurate operational readings from Desmet and Bosch juice scales, VHP sugar scales, refinery scales, raw sugar scales, and final molasses scales.

Monitor and supervise shift activities, ensuring operational targets are achieved while promptly addressing and escalating equipment or process-related breakdowns.

Supervise shift and attend to breakdowns and escalate issues.

Record analytical and process results on the daily results sheet and review shift analytical results to verify accuracy, identify trends or deviations, and ensure timely reporting of any anomalies results.

Transfer the daily molasses and sugar analytical results on the analytical comparison sheet.

Maintain Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards and support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance, data integrity, and laboratory excellence.

Enter stoppages into laboratory system.

Enter steam production and coal usage into network.

Compile the Daily Report for management and file.

Responsible for the routine shift sampling and analysis for both raw house and refinery products.

Responsible for Weigh-bridge operation.
-
Responsible for DAC sampling and analysis.
-
Enhance the standard of house keeping by cleaning up work areas and depositing scrap etc. in the areas allocate for such purposes.

Promote and adhere to Company procedures, policies and guidelines, including, without limitation, those relating to SHERQ, Competition Law and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC).
Job Requirements

Diploma in Chemical Engineering or Analytical Chemistry or equivalent.

Training in Laboratory Modules, an added advantage.
-
3+ years experience in the laboratory environment.
-
Possess analytical and supervisory skills.
-
Knowledge of the Continuous Improvement system.
