The Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA) is a Category A Public Enterprise established through the Eswatini Investment Promotion Act, 1998. Its mandate is to promote, coordinate, and facilitate trade, foreign direct investment, and domestic investment in the Kingdom of Eswatini.
Purpose of the Job
To conduct high-quality research, generate strategic insights, and contribute to the development and implementation of evidence-based policies and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Research, Analysis & Policy Development
- Conduct research and analysis on investment and trade performance, priority sectors, economic developments, and the business environment.
- Undertake economic, statistical, sectoral, and market analyses to identify trade and investment opportunities and challenges.
- Develop investor intelligence products, investment profiles, sector reports, competitiveness assessments, and economic outlook reports.
- Conduct benchmarking studies and comparative analyses against regional and international best practices.
- Conduct policy analysis and contribute to policy briefs, position papers, and regulatory research.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Performance Management
- Support implementation and continuous improvement of the Authority’s Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Framework.
- Track, monitor, and evaluate organizational and departmental KPIs and strategic targets.
- Support impact assessments and evaluations of EIPA programmes, projects, and interventions.
Data Management & Analytics
- Manage, analyse, and interpret large datasets from internal and external sources.
- Support the development and maintenance of databases, data repositories, and business intelligence systems.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across reporting systems.
Stakeholder Engagement & Knowledge Management
- Support engagement with government ministries, regulatory agencies, development partners, investors, businesses, and research institutions.
- Prepare presentations, briefing notes, technical papers, and knowledge products.
- Contribute to the development and dissemination of research findings and strategic insights.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Demography, or a closely related quantitative field from a recognized institution.
- A postgraduate qualification in Economics, Statistics, or Monitoring & Evaluation will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ relevant experience in economic research, statistical analysis, monitoring and evaluation, policy analysis, strategic planning, or business analytics.
- Demonstrated experience in data collection, management, analysis, interpretation, and reporting.
- Experience in developing performance indicators, results frameworks, monitoring systems, and evaluation tools.
