Job Overview
The Data Analyst will support business decision-making by translating operational challenges into analytics and business intelligence (BI) solutions. The role focuses on developing use cases, aligning analytics with business needs, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Business Problem Definition & Use Case Development
- Conduct workshops, interviews, and document reviews to identify business challenges
- Analyse processes, policies, and reports to identify inefficiencies and risks
- Translate business needs into analytics and BI problem statements
- Define success measures, business logic, and operational outcomes
- Develop and prioritise analytics and BI use cases
Analytics & BI Alignment
- Collaborate with Data Scientists, BI Analysts, and Data Engineers
- Validate analytical models and BI outputs
- Ensure alignment with governance, security, and system integration requirements
- Embed business rules into analytics and AI-driven solutions
Performance Frameworks & Decision Support
- Design KPIs, thresholds, and performance metrics
- Define decision rules and escalation processes
- Integrate analytics into planning, compliance, and operational workflows
- Monitor BI outputs for accuracy and relevance
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as liaison between business units and analytics teams
- Facilitate interpretation of analytical insights
- Support reporting for management decision-making
Continuous Improvement
- Review and refine analytics use cases
- Improve KPIs, assumptions, and decision frameworks
- Contribute to data strategy and governance initiatives
Minimum Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Statistics, Business Analytics, Operations Research, Public Policy, or related field
Experience:
- At least 2 years’ experience in business analysis, strategy, or analytics
- Experience translating business problems into analytical solutions
- Experience developing KPIs and performance frameworks
Advantageous
- Postgraduate qualification in Business Analytics, Economics, Strategy, or Public Administration
- Experience in regulatory, compliance, or revenue environments
- Project management exposure

Key Responsibilities
a. Business Intelligence & Reporting Delivery
- Engage business units to identify reporting needs and performance gaps
- Collaborate with Business Scientist to prioritise BI use cases
- Design, develop, and maintain dashboards and reports
- Integrate advanced analytics into BI solutions
- Define KPIs and reporting standards aligned to organisational priorities
b. Data Collection, Preparation & Integration
- Identify and access relevant data sources
- Collaborate with Data Engineers on data pipelines and quality
- Extract, transform, and prepare data for reporting
- Develop BI systems, tools, and data models
- Apply automation and document reporting processes
c. Data Analysis & Performance Monitoring
- Analyse data to identify trends and insights

d. BI Enablement & Governance
- Define and maintain BI standards and governance frameworks

Minimum Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Business Analytics, or related field
Experience:
- At least 2 years’ experience in BI, reporting, or data analysis
- Experience developing dashboards and performance reports
- Experience analysing data to generate insights
- Experience using BI tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)
- Experience working with stakeholders to deliver BI solutions
Advantageous
- Postgraduate qualification or BI certification (e.g. BIDA)
- Experience with data modelling, ETL, or data warehousing
- Exposure to cloud analytics environments
- Project management experience
