JOB PURPOSE

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Electrician, reporting to the Technician: Electrical.

The successful candidate will support the Technician in the testing, maintenance, overhaul, troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair of electrical equipment, including motor controls and pump drives.

The position will also be responsible for carrying out first-line maintenance and routine inspections of plant equipment, as well as compiling inspection reports.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

The successful candidate should have:

• Basic understanding of electrical maintenance techniques and practices, including the repair, installation and maintenance of mechanical equipment and machinery.
• Knowledge of and adherence to safety procedures and regulations relating to electrical maintenance.
• Ability to perform routine electrical maintenance tasks and minor repairs on mechanical systems and equipment.
• Knowledge of and commitment to established SHEQ procedures.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual tasks.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Material handling skills.
• Ability to use electrical equipment and tools.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and standard safety practices.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• O Level (IGCSE) Certificate
• Grade 1 Trade Certificate in Electrical Discipline
