Join Our Team as an Enumerator

Do you want to be part of research that informs important decisions in Eswatini? Are you passionate about working with people and collecting accurate, high-quality data with professionalism and integrity?

The Eswatini Economic Policy Analysis and Research Centre (ESEPARC) is inviting applications from qualified, motivated and reliable individuals to join its Enumerator Pool. Successful applicants will support a range of research and data collection activities undertaken by ESEPARC for government, development partners, the private sector, and other stakeholders across various sectors.

Joining the ESEPARC Enumerator Pool does not guarantee immediate engagement but provides an opportunity to be considered for future assignments as projects arise. Selected enumerators will receive project-specific training before deployment and will be expected to collect high-quality data while adhering to established research protocols, ethical standards, and confidentiality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct face-to-face interviews with respondents according to the training provided and the questionnaire.
  • Translate questionnaires fluently between siSwati and English during interviews.
  • Enter all data accurately into the survey tool provided by ESEPARC.
  • Ensure data is correctly captured, cleaned, and accurately reflects respondents’ views.
  • Submit daily reports to the assigned supervisor.
  • Identify and report challenges encountered during data collection that may affect data quality.
  • Work proactively to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
  • Perform any other duties related to the survey as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Maintain the integrity of all data collected by ensuring every interview and response is genuine, accurate, and obtained directly from the respondent.

Competencies and Qualifications

  • Tertiary degree or certificate (qualifications in Statistics, Demography, Research, Economics, or Data Analysis will be an added advantage).
  • Relevant experience in data collection, data cleaning and analysis, surveys, and community development.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and confidently conduct household visits.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
  • High ethical standards, respect, and honesty.
  • Accountability.
