EXECUTIVE MANAGER

                                             

ABOUT NCFE AND THE POSITION

The National Co-operatives Federation of Eswatini (NCFE) is the apex body representing and promoting the co-operative movement across the Kingdom of Eswatini. NCFE works closely with the Ministry of Commerce, the Commissioner for Co-operative Development, Apex organisations, ECODEC and donor/project funders to strengthen co-operative development and enterprise nationally.

NCFE is recruiting a visionary Executive Manager to drive the NCFE’s strategic direction, and lead the development and implementation of effective measures to secure and maximise donor funding and the medium to long-term sustainability of the organisation, while fostering an enabling environment for employee engagement, integrity, accountability, creativity and service excellence.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Strategic Direction

  • Lead, in liaison with the Board, the development and review of NCFE’s corporate strategy.
  • Translate strategy into actionable objectives and targets.
  • Plan and oversee the allocation of resources and budgets required for effective performance and continuous improvement.

Leadership, Culture and Change Management

  • Manage the performance and engagement of the NCFE management team and staff.
  • Make sound operational decisions.
  • Negotiate and recommend agreements for Board approval.
  • Promote change initiatives that build a vibrant organisational culture.

Financial Management

  • Together with the Board, take accountability for NCFE’s financial health and sustainability.
  • Develop and control budgets.
  • Implement sound financial systems and controls.
  • Provide accurate financial reporting.
  • Oversee audits and compliance.

Internal Processes and Administrative Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development and implementation of administration and support services.
  • Develop and maintain a corporate risk register.
  • Oversee organisational compliance systems.
  • Manage payroll and staff benefits administration.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Governance, Board Matters and Stakeholder Management

  • Provide the executive linkage and advisory role to the Board.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders, donors and project sponsors.
  • Lead the development of sound corporate governance policies and practices.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s Degree in Management, Business Leadership or Finance.
  • Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA or CIMA is desirable but not essential.
  • Advanced computer skills, including:
    • MS Office
    • Financial management packages
    • Relational databases
  • Minimum 5 years’ senior management experience in a reputable private or public business enterprise or co-operative management.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in office and operations management.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the co-operative business model will be an added advantage.
  • Valid driving licence (Code B/LMV).
  • Willingness to travel extensively within and outside Eswatini, including outside normal business hours.
