Tambuti Estates is seeking a results-driven and experienced Farm Manager – Sugarcane to manage a large-scale irrigated sugarcane operation. The role reports to the Estate Manager and is responsible for driving optimal production, operational efficiency, and compliance with safety and quality standards.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities
- Manage an irrigated sugarcane operation of approximately 700 hectares to achieve production and profitability targets.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute crop husbandry and farm management activities in line with best practice.
- Efficiently deploy labour, equipment, and inputs to meet operational requirements and timelines.
- Provide effective leadership, including staff supervision, performance management, and discipline.
- Monitor farm processes to ensure efficient use of resources and cost control.
- Ensure compliance with SHEQ standards and company policies.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- BSc Degree in Agriculture (Agronomy) or equivalent.
- Senior Certificate in Sugarcane Agriculture.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in sugarcane farming and management.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
