Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the vacant position of Graduate in Training: Legal & Compliance reporting to the Specialist: Legal & Compliance.


JOB PURPOSE

The Graduate Trainee – Legal will receive practical training and exposure in legal advisory services, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, contract management, litigation management, policy development, ethics and integrity management, and legal risk management within a regulated utility environment.


KEY OUTPUTS

  • Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions and memoranda.
  • Draft, review, and manage contracts and agreements.
  • Maintain legal, compliance, litigation, and contract registers.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting the Corporation.
  • Support compliance audits, assessments, and reporting processes.
  • Assist with policy development and review.
  • Support corporate governance and Board administration activities.
  • Assist with litigation and dispute management processes.
  • Support ethics, integrity, and compliance awareness initiatives.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and management submissions.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree from a recognized institution.
  • Completion of Articles of Clerkship or equivalent practical legal training.
  • Demonstrable legal research, drafting, and analytical skills.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a dynamic legal office, law firm, regulatory environment, public institution, or corporate environment.
