HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICER

Purpose

To provide comprehensive human resources support within the factory, ensuring effective recruitment, employee relations, training, payroll administration, compliance with Eswatini labour legislation, and implementation of company HR policies and procedures. The HR Officer serves as the first point of contact for employees and line management on day-to-day HR matters.

Reporting to Human Resources Manager, the candidate will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating recruitment, selection, onboarding and workforce planning activities.
  • Administering employee records and maintaining accurate HR information systems.
  • Managing disciplinary, grievance and employee relations processes in accordance with company procedures and labour legislation.
  • Monitoring attendance, absenteeism, leave management and clocking compliance.
  • Verifying payroll inputs including overtime, leave, allowances and deductions.
  • Administering employee benefits and responding to payroll-related queries.
  • Coordinating training and development programmes and maintaining training records.
  • Supporting performance management, succession planning and employee development initiatives.
  • Coordinating employee engagement, wellness and communication programmes.
  • Managing temporary incapacity, injury-on-duty and workmen’s compensation cases.
  • Supporting customer, social compliance and ethical trade audits, including BSCI, WRAP and SEDEX requirements.
  • Liaising with external stakeholders, service providers, auditors etc.
  • Preparing accurate monthly, quarterly and annual HR reports.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

  • Degree in Human Resources Management or Industrial Psychology.
  • Additional certification in Payroll Administration will be an added advantage.
  • Membership of a recognised HR professional body will be an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Human Resources.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, textile or large-scale industrial environment will be an added advantage.
  • Experience handling disciplinary and grievance matters.
  • Experience with payroll administration and HR reporting.

Skills, Knowledge & Attributes

  • Knowledge of time and attendance systems.
  • Sound knowledge of Eswatini labour legislation and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Strong investigation, conflict resolution and employee relations skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR information systems.
  • Strong report writing, analytical and organisational abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • High levels of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the organisation.
  • Self-motivated and results oriented.
