
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The purpose of this position is to provide advice and assistance to management and employees on all matters relating to industrial relations, including employment law, employee relations, and workplace disputes.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma Law, Commerce or related
- At least 2 years’ experience in an IR role
- Must have extensive knowledge of all relevant employment legislation and industrial relations standards, processes and best practice.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide advice and assistance to management and employees on all matters relating to industrial relations, including employment law, negotiations, grievances and workplace disputes.
- Ensure Logico complies with legal labour requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
- Conduct investigations into workplace disputes and recommend solutions.
- Facilitate the negotiation and drafting of collective bargaining agreements or constitutions with relevant stakeholders.
- Provide input into the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures that promote a positive and productive work environment.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in employment law and best practices in industrial relations.
- Represent the company at CMAC, tribunals and other legal proceedings.
- Recommend and ensure the provision of training to managers and employees on industrial relations matters as gaps in knowledge are identified.
- Facilitate the disciplinary process as initiated by departments, ensuring the process is fully recorded, and advising on best practice to ensure procedural and substantive fairness.
- Ensure all records relating to IR matters are secure and complete, and where necessary submitted to the HR Officer for storage in employee files.
- Timeously advise Payroll Officer on recommendations for termination arising out of disciplinary enquiries.
- Capture all IR related incidents on HRMIS.
- Advise Management on cases to be referred to the Labour Court.
- Conduct regular communication with staff on IR updates.
- Provide guidance to supervision to ensure that discipline and counselling is handled fairly and in accordance with prevailing labour legislation.
- Facilitate the relationship between Logico and IR related service providers and external parties.
- Prepare periodic reports as required.
- Perform any other duties as may be reasonably assigned.
