INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY – TOWN PLANNING

 

Organisation: Malkerns Town Council
Department: Town Planning and Spatial Development Unit
Positions: Two (2) interns
Duration: 3 months

Key Performance Areas

The interns will support the municipality with:

• Spatial data collection and analysis
• GIS mapping and database development
• Thematic map preparation
• Preparation of spatial-development frameworks
• Stakeholder consultations
• Public-participation programmes
• Community surveys and needs assessments
• Preparation of consultation reports

Qualifications and Skills

Applicants should:

• Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Town and Regional Planning, Urban Planning, Spatial Planning, Geography, Development Studies or a related discipline.
• Be recent graduates, within the last 2 years, seeking workplace experience.
• Demonstrate strong analytical, communication and computer skills.
• Have knowledge of GIS software and planning regulations; this is an added advantage.
• Be residents of Malkerns; this is an added advantage.
