IT OFFICER

Reports to: Systems Analyst

RESPONSIBILITY

The IT Officer is responsible for maintaining and optimizing the company’s IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration of hybrid cloud solutions, and leveraging BI tools to support data-driven decision-making. The role collaborates with cross-functional teams to improve operational efficiency, enhance data accessibility, contribute to the company’s ongoing technological evolution, and attend to daily user support issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and optimize data models, dashboards and reports to facilitate data-driven decision-making and ensure data quality and integrity in BI systems.
  • Collaborate with business teams to define reporting requirements and deliver relevant BI solutions.
  • Install, configure and maintain servers, networks and other IT infrastructure.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Perform regular backups and ensure the integrity of company data.
  • Work closely with other departments to understand their technology needs and support their goals.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies related to hybrid IT infrastructure and business intelligence.
  • Identify opportunities to improve IT systems, infrastructure efficiency and BI functionality.
  • Oversee the purchasing and maintenance of IT hardware such as computers, printers and servers.
  • Ensure all hardware is properly maintained and repaired when necessary.
  • Provide first-line IT support and resolve hardware/software issues for end users.
  • Document system configurations, processes and troubleshooting steps for future reference.
  • Maintain accurate records of IT assets, licences and warranties.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field.
  • 2–3 years’ experience in IT infrastructure management, particularly in hybrid environments.
  • Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau or QlikView and data analytics.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Understanding of hybrid cloud architectures and integration strategies.
  • Knowledge of MS SQL.
  • Knowledge of BI reporting, data analysis and data visualisation techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
