Description
UMOBA (Pty) Ltd is seeking a hands-on Junior HR Manager to provide end-to-end Human Resources and Industrial Relations support across our multi-site operations. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this role partners closely with operational leaders in workshops, plant hire, stores, administration, and harvesting teams to drive compliant, pragmatic, and people-centric solutions.
You will be the primary HR point of contact for our Big Bend and Vuvulane operations, balancing day-to-day HR delivery with robust industrial relations, union engagement, and workforce planning for seasonal and peak operational demands.
This role is ideal for a confident HR professional with strong IR expertise who thrives in an operational, unionised environment. Success requires regular site presence, proactive stakeholder engagement, and the ability to translate business priorities into effective people practices that support safety, productivity, and a positive employee experience.
Key Responsibilities

Provide end-to-end HR generalist and IR support to workshops, plant hire, stores, administration, and harvesting operations in Big Bend and Vuvulane.

Lead employee and industrial relations: advise managers, chair disciplinary hearings, manage grievances, prepare and support representation at CMAC/CCMA, and maintain constructive union relationships.

Partner with line managers on workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, and probation management to meet operational and seasonal peaks.

Ensure compliance with Eswatini labour legislation, company policies, and OHS standards; maintain accurate HR records, contracts, and statutory registers.

Coordinate payroll inputs, time and attendance integrity, leave administration, and benefits enrolments in collaboration with Finance.

Drive performance management, learning and skills development (e.g., operator training and supervisory coaching), and support succession/talent initiatives.

Compile HR metrics and reports; identify risks and opportunities; recommend and implement continuous improvement across multi-site operations.
Minimum Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, Labour Relations, or a related field.

3–5 years’ relevant HR experience, preferably within an operational environment.

Strong Employee and Industrial Relations experience.

Sound knowledge and practical application of labour legislation.

Proven experience managing disciplinary and grievance processes.

Experience conducting workplace investigations.

Experience working within a unionised environment.

Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
