Job Purpose
To take the lead in implementing the Centre’s Knowledge Management Strategy. The role advises the Centre on knowledge management and information systems, oversees the management and dissemination of information within and outside the organisation, and ensures that organisational information needs are met in a timely, effective, and efficient manner.
Key Result Areas
- Social media, website, and newspaper management
- Production of annual reports
- Support for the production of research outputs including:
- Working papers
- Policy briefs
- Analytical reports
- News articles and posts
- Documentation of best practices and knowledge sharing
- Stakeholder management and relationship building
- ESEPARC research output repository development and management
- Assistant Board Secretary to Chief Executive Director
- Development and implementation of the ESEPARC Knowledge Management Manual
- Maintenance of a current, accessible institutional knowledge base aligned with ESEPARC’s research agenda
- Development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of:
- Knowledge repositories
- Databases
- Document management systems and software
- Documentation of organisational processes and systems to preserve institutional memory, especially during staff transitions
- Supporting Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) frameworks through proper documentation and indicator tracking
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, plan, and support implementation of the Knowledge Management Strategy
- Manage relationships with third-party software providers, including:
- Extranet systems
- Membership databases
- Smartphone applications
- Online survey tools
- Provide leadership in knowledge management and information dissemination
- Guide the strategic development of knowledge management systems and practices
- Ensure integrated and efficient operation of all knowledge management systems
- Monitor and share data on the Centre’s progress towards strategic objectives
- Manage and maintain the extranet system for stakeholder access to information and data
- Lead technical management of the Centre’s websites and apps, including:
- Coordinating development work
- Correcting broken links
- Conduct research and disseminate findings to relevant stakeholders
- Perform other duties relevant to the role
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Qualifications
A Degree in:
- Knowledge Management
- Information Science
- Library Science
- Business Administration (MBA)
- Communications
- Social Sciences
- Or equivalent qualification
Experience & Competencies
- Knowledge of research processes
- Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E)
- Marketing and communication skills
- Understanding of laws relating to data storage, usage, and privacy
- Experience in writing and publishing
- Strong coordination and organisational skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds
