Logico is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Local Fleet Manager.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To manage, plan and organise all local processes relating to the transportation and delivery of stock, while ensuring cost-effective route scheduling and consideration of the total supply chain cost.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years’ fleet management and administration experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory position.
- Practical fleet maintenance experience will be an added advantage.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Working knowledge of Transport Management Systems (TMS).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage, report on and prepare the local fleet budget.
- Manage fleet repairs and maintenance and schedule vehicle servicing.
- Monitor vehicle utilisation and implement corrective measures.
- Ensure compliance with driver backdoor call procedures and escalate issues where necessary.
- Ensure drivers return with proof of delivery and that loads are allocated to appropriately sized trucks.
- Monitor and report fleet running expenses, including fuel, tyres, servicing, repairs and maintenance.
- Manage local stock distribution to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.
- Handle warehouse petty cash.
- Source competitive quotations, raise purchase orders and approve local fleet-related invoices.
- Facilitate training for the team.
- Track and report daily on local vehicles using TMS and Netstar.
- Identify supply chain inefficiencies affecting transport processes and costs.
- Analyse transport process effectiveness and implement corrective measures.
