MANAGER – PAYMENTS, SETTLEMENTS AND INTERNAL CONTROLS

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Manager: Payments, Settlements and Internal Controls functions as the bridge between operations, purchasing, and accounting. The role creates and maintains the entire payable system to support the management in maintaining the financial health of the company. The role accomplishes all accounts payable and accounts receivable activities ensuring accurate record keeping, timely processing and payment of invoices and month-end close accounts payable tasks and reports.

The role oversees the day-to-day operations of all cash receipts and disbursements, credit and collections, banking, and cash flow forecasting. The role serves as the direct line to Banks for all online banking administration needs, banking inquiries, and banking document management. The role also helps foster a culture of continuous improvement by leading process improvement and efficiency efforts for respective areas of responsibility. Performs other duties as assigned by CFO.

The Manager: Payments, Settlements and Internal Controls reports to the CFO and maintains liaison with the Group Finance team, as and when required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy Development and Implementation

  • Abide by the strategy cascaded by functional lead and assist in the creation of the sub-functional strategy.
  • Ensure effective implementation of the functional strategy.
  • Assist in review of the sub-functional strategy and roadmap to ensure alignment with changing internal and external dynamics.

Governance

Strategic Meetings

  • Participate in strategic meetings.
  • Support function-wide transformation initiatives.
  • Implement adequate risk mitigation and controls with direction from the CFO.
  • Perform evaluation baseline of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and KPIs.
  • Manage approval process from the CFO on new initiatives.
  • Work with approved budgets for internal projects.
  • Facilitate preparation of proposals on change initiatives, SLAs, policies and procedures.

Escalations

  • Escalate issues impacting time, scope, productivity, cost or resources to the CFO.
  • Manage and provide solutions to escalations affecting multiple processes/functions.

Function Tactical

  • Execute projects initiated within the function.
  • Assist in establishing objectives, targets and budgets.
  • Identify risks, issues and dependencies and recommend mitigation actions.
  • Prepare documentation for tactical changes and decisions.

Performance

  • Monitor performance and alignment with divisional strategy.
  • Review SLA approvals and exceptions.

Reporting

  • Provide daily progress reports to the CFO.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports for specific projects.

Budgets

  • Assist in managing functional and project budgets aligned to business objectives.
