
1. SHEQ Officer

Contract Type: 12 Months Fixed Term (Renewable)

Reporting to: Public Health and Environment Manager
-
Main Purpose: Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of health and safety policies and procedures, aligned with national legislation.
Main Responsibilities:
-
Conduct hazard identification and SHEQ risk assessments.
-
Develop, implement, and monitor occupational health and safety programs.
-
Conduct routine inspections of workplaces, commercial establishments, and Council facilities.
-
Investigate workplace incidents and accidents, determine root causes, and recommend preventive measures.
-
Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, including safety awareness programs and emergency drills.
-
Develop, review, and enforce SHEQ policies, procedures, and statutory compliance requirements.
-
Monitor and improve SHEQ performance across all Council operations.
-
Maintain and support Quality Management Systems (QMS), including ISO standards.
-
Facilitate occupational health and safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns.
-
Liaise with regulatory authorities, inspectors, and other stakeholders on SHEQ-related matters.
Qualifications and Experience:
-
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or Equivalent.
-
Experience: 3-5 years’ experience in the field.
-
Knowledge: ISO Standards, National Legislations.
-
Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
2. Communications, Marketing & Public Relations Officer

Contract Type: 12 Months Fixed Term (Renewable)

Reporting to: Corporate Services Manager
-
Main Purpose: Perform public relations, internal and external communication duties to build and maintain a positive public image and reputation.
Main Responsibilities:
-
Develop and create communication materials (newsletters, press releases, speeches, brochures).
-
Manage and update the Council website, social media platforms, and other digital channels.
-
Create, schedule, and monitor social media content to enhance public engagement.
-
Build and maintain positive relationships with media stakeholders.
-
Plan and implement public relations initiatives, customer satisfaction surveys, and crisis communication.
-
Design and execute marketing campaigns and produce promotional materials.
-
Coordinate branding, visibility, and publicity for all Council projects and events.
-
Develop and distribute internal communication materials.
Qualifications and Experience:
-
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and Communications, Public Relations and Journalism or equivalent.
-
Certification: Professional Body affiliation (e.g., PRISA), Social Media Management Certification.
-
Experience: 2-3 years relevant work experience.
-
Skills: Interpersonal, Organizational, Communication, Writing and Editing, Time Management, Content Creation, Stakeholder Management, Media Relations, Events Coordination.
3. Social Services Assistant

Contract Type: 12 Months Fixed Term (Renewable)

Reporting to: Social Services Manager
-
Main Purpose: Support the Social Services Department in promoting social well-being through social welfare services, wellness support, and community development initiatives.
Main Responsibilities:
-
Assist in identifying and assessing the social and economic needs of community members.
-
Support the implementation of programs for vulnerable children, older persons, persons with disabilities, and other groups.
-
Provide basic psychosocial support, guidance, and referral services under supervision.
-
Conduct follow-ups on cases and maintain accurate records of interventions.
-
Assist in implementing resident wellness, life skills, and awareness programs.
-
Mobilize and engage community members in development and wellness activities.
-
Collaborate with schools, NGOs, government agencies, and community organizations.
-
Support community outreach, education, and awareness campaigns.
-
Assist in coordinating and supporting community volunteers.
-
Collect data and contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of programs.
-
Prepare reports, statistics, and documentation on program activities.
Qualifications and Experience:
-
Education: Diploma in Social Work, Community Development, or a related field.
-
Experience: At least 1-2 years’ experience in community-based social service programs.
-
Requirements: Computer literacy, good report-writing skills.

Advantageous: Valid driver’s license.
