SUB-JOURNEYMAN WELDER (FTC)

Key Performance Areas

• Rebuilding of shredder washboard with hardfacing and welding of wear plates.
• Hardfacing of mill dumbturners, cheek plates, trash plates, scrapers and arcing of mill rolls.
• Building up/hardfacing of cane carrier, intercarrier, feedtable sprockets and skids.
• Hardfacing of diffuser wheel.
• Welding of diffuser bed frames.
• Rebuilding of cane knife palm internals and exterior hardfacing.
• Profile cutting and hardfacing of shredder hammers and cane knives.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and safe work procedures.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, including SHERQ, Competition Law and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC).

Requirements

• Form 5/O’ Level or equivalent OR 10 years’ experience in a similar environment.
• At least 2–3 years’ experience in a sugar manufacturing industry.
• Grade III (Gas and Arc Welding Test).
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
