Job Summary

The Unit Accountant – Hospitality is responsible for providing management accounting services to senior management within the Hospitality Division and supporting the organisation’s corporate management accounting objectives.

The role includes budgeting, preparing accurate divisional management accounts, identifying areas requiring management intervention, and promoting cost-effective financial management.

Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day financial accounting activities in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Manage fixed assets and inventory-related transactions.
Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable.
Manage bank accounts and banking transactions.
Administer VAT, income tax, and other statutory financial transactions.
Maintain monthly reconciliation files.
Prepare monthly management accounts.
Compile annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
Prepare ad hoc financial reports for Hospitality Business Management.
Assist with external audit processes.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CA qualification or progress towards obtaining a CA qualification will be an added advantage.

Experience

At least three (3) years’ articles completed at a reputable audit firm.
At least three (3) years’ accounting experience in a similar industry.
Strong financial acumen.
Excellent interpersonal and report-writing skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
